I am an international student at Hendrix College from Chittagong. This project grew out of a summer spent listening to Bengali people living away from Bangladesh talk about the songs they carry with them.

The project

A summer research project on Bengali music, memory, and belonging among people living away from Bangladesh. Twelve conversations, recorded where people already were: restaurants, grocery stores, parks, community centers, and a university campus store.

A documentary film from this fieldwork is in progress.
